Humans produce more than 3.5 million tons of waste every day. By burning it, waste can be turned into energy – a process that even helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. While these techniques seem promising, the results of over-consumption are endangering Earth. I started this project after finding a 1954 Polaroid Land Camera in a dumpster. What happens to waste? To investigate, I visited recycling yards, supermarkets, landfills and waste-to-energy plants, trying to find answers in an industrial wonderland of wasted matters.
