Ambassadors for the North

A response to the concept still prevalent in England - the idea of 'the North'. In England all areas north of Watford gap services on the M1 motorway are considered northern, and of a character distinctly different and in many ways less attractive than the 'south'. I wanted (through great affection) to embrace those differences, not only as someone who comes from the north, but also as someone who is happy to recognise these differences too. All the images are taken on black and white film, mostly on 5x4.
