Ron S. Levy is a landscape photographer, residing in Houston, Texas, who currently specializes in night photography using "light painting." A graduate of Amherst College with a B.A. and University of Rochester with a Ph.D., Ron has studied photography on his own to this day. Although he has been doing landscape photography of the American Southwest as a sideline for many years, printing some in his own darkroom, it is only now, after retirement, that he is able to devote his full attention to offering his pictures to the art world. Thus, he is an artist just beginning to emerge.
Most recently, some of Ron's light painting photos were part of a group exhibit at the Houston Center for Photography [juror: Jason Dibley, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston]. And one was the publicity photo for the Artist Talks event. Also, some of Ron's fine art photographs are in private collections around the country.
His main light painting body-of-work for the last half decade, "The Vibrant Night: Light Painting Photos of Nature Areas" explores nature areas in Texas (mainly) as they've seldom been seen. He seeks to grow and expand it to more terrains, creating subseries within it.
