F. Dilek Yurdakul was born in Çanakkale. After completing her primary and secondary education in this city, she entered Gazi University, Faculty of Law in Ankara, Türkiye. When she graduated, she started her master's degree in Labor and Social Security Law at the same university. She is still a lawyer in a company in Ankara. She also lectures in photography classes at universities in Ankara.
Her primary goal is to raise social awareness and consciousness through photography projects.
For 7 years, she has dedicated most of her time to photography. She has been working on social responsibility projects and documenting socially important issues through photography.
As a woman photographer, lawyer, and mother from Türkiye, she delivered numerous speeches at universities and photography associations, and as a TEDx Speaker, she emphasized the significance of being a woman and embracing change. She also takes part in social awareness projects.
She has participated in numerous international competitions and exhibitions and has won over 200 awards, including National Geographic Travel Photography of the Year, First place in the Open Street Category at the Sony World Photography Awards, and IPA Discovery of the Year.
She is still a contributor photographer for National Geographic YS and National Geographic Turkey.
