Don Bell is an Emmy Award winning journalist and visual artist. His work focuses on visually amplifying the richness and complexities within the Black community while deconstructing the monolith heavily reinforced through art and mass media. He uses portraiture and other avenues to dive into a reservoir of emotions: from raw vulnerability to wry humor. From unspeakable strength to bountiful pride. His photographic process places value on sophistication through simplicity. “I believe nothing true can be built on a lie, for that reason, I place an emphasis on the authenticity of subjects and accentuate them with the use of minimalist settings,” says Bell.
Bell has exhibited nationally from Miami to LA. When he's not shooting photography, he's a Sports Anchor at CBS Philadelphia and previously for ESPN and Fox Sports.
