Sicilian born I attended the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan where I graduated with honors. For almost five years I have been working as an assistant for Film Director and Photographer Francesco Nencini at his studio in Milan 56Factory. After that period I decided to follow my passion and started working as a news photographer for a Milan based agency called "Agenzia Fotogramma". I have been covering Politics, News and Social Issues along journalist for Italian newspapers such as "Corriere della Sera", "La Repubblica" and "La Stampa". My work has been featured on international publications like the Guardian, the Telegraph and FT. In 2012 I quitted my job and moved to London where I live and work.
Every Saturday in the port of Palermo, you will find cars piled dangerously high with stuff, junk. These photographs (and interview) explore how humble-seeming vehicles are recreating a tradition that goes back thousands of years.
