NextLevel Galerie – Paris
French photographer born in 1968, Ronan Guillou lives in Paris where he has been working as a professional photographer since 1997. In the early 2000s, he began his first personal photographic investigations of American urban spaces, conducted alongside advertising and other commissions for French and international magazines. The United States gradually became Guillou's main subject and is the ongoing inspiration for an odyssey in color across the America of this new millennium. His approach aims to combine both documentary intent and formal exploration, and allows luck and chance encounters to steer the narrative.
An interview with the French photographer about his current project photographing in rural America.
