Vikesh Kapoor is an artist born in Sunset Pines, Pennsylvania.
He released his debut album, The Ballad of Willy Robbins (2013) to critical acclaim. His songs have been highlighted by The New Yorker, The Guardian, Interview Magazine, Rolling Stone and others, while Rough Trade awarded his debut one of the Best 100 Albums of the Year.
Kapoor is the recipient of CENTER’s 2018 Project Development Grant for his ongoing photo-based narrative, See You At Home. This project has received support from curators at National Portrait Gallery, SFMoMA and the Andy Warhol Museum.
Selections from this body of work will exhibit at Aperture Foundation in April 2019.
He has studied with Kathy Moran of National Geographic, Alex Webb of Magnum Photos, Jim Estrin of The New York Times, and has been published by The Guardian, Libération, The Boston Globe, Bullet Magazine, amongst others.
