About Maro Ellinitaki

Maro Ellinitaki is a visual artist and photographer based in Athens, Greece. Her work explores the intersection of memory, history, and abstraction within the urban environment. Drawing from her background in political science and public history, she approaches the city as a site of tension—between visibility and absence, structure and distortion. Through photography, she constructs visual essays that question how we see, what we erase, and how the material world shapes memory.
She holds an MA in Public History, with research focusing on the visual representation of silenced historical narratives, particularly the Greek Civil War. Her practice reflects a sustained interest in the emotional residue of places, and the invisible structures that define perception.
