About Ricardo Teles

Born in Porto Alegre/RS, southern Brazil, he has been working in São Paulo in the areas of documentation and photojournalism since 1994. He was an independent photographer for the Estado group from 1994 to 2002. He collaborated with several national magazines such as National Geographic Brasil, for which he received the Best Edit award for best international reporting of the month three times (2013, 2015, and 2018), as well as with international outlets like the German Der Spiegel, covering stories in various Latin American countries.
Currently, in addition to continuing his own projects, he works in the institutional and corporate markets.
Among the awards he has received stands out the first place in the Sport (2022) and Travel (2016) categories at the Sony World Photography Award, organized by the World Photography Organization. He has been a finalist twice for the Global Peace Photo Award, sponsored by the Austrian parliament and UNESCO (2022 and 2016).
He has held numerous exhibitions, both solo and collective. His work is part of significant collections such as the MAC of Ceará (2010), the permanent collection of the MAM/SP (2003), and the MASP Pirelli collection (2002). It has also been exhibited in several Brazilian capitals, as well as in the USA, Europe, and Africa.
